Does my child need to have a data plan to use their card in-store (tap)?
Your child will need to access the internet via Wi-Fi or data while setting up their Mydoh account and using the app. Once they have funds available to be used, they do not need to access the internet to make purchases!
Once they have received their physical card or have added their digital card to their Apple Wallet*, they can make in-store purchases without any phones or internet! When making a purchase via tap, please ensure you are holding the card (physical or digital on your device) until you hear the confirmation from the card reader, after which you can remove your card from the card terminal.
Note: Currently, Apple restricts Apple IDs of less than 13 year old’s from adding their card to Apple Wallet.
