What type of personal data does RBC collect and why?

To create a parent Wallet and child Smart Cash Card within Mydoh, we require you and your child’s legal first name and last name, email and date of birth. The email is so that we can create a unique identifier for you and your child’s accounts and send transactional data.

We require legal first and last name, address and date of birth as part of FINTRAC regulations for opening a financial account to protect against financial crimes, such as fraud, terrorist activities and money laundering. Additionally, we require your child’s date of birth so we can verify that they meet the requirements for having a child Smart Cash Card with Mydoh.

The current requirements for a child to obtain a Mydoh Smart Cash Card include being between the ages of 6 to 18. Their legal parent or guardian can add up to 5 children per Mydoh account. The parent’s identity can be verified through their driver’s license. This information is not stored, and only used for verification purposes.

If you have any questions or concerns, our support team would be more than happy to continue the conversation! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us through the in-app chat, or via email at hello@mydoh.ca.
